It hasn’t been many warm summer days yet this summer here, but at least a few of them.
To add extra summer feeling a nice evening snack with fresh cherries on the balcony is perfect. With a cooling glass of home brewed Kombucha as well! We would never buy anything like cherries in the store, but when they are freshly picked from a tree in the garden they should definetely be enjoyed.
Ironically while eating them, I was reading the book “Gut: The Inside Story of Our Body’s Most Underrated Organ”, that explains why the stomach can feel funny when eating cherries. It’s due to the large amount of fructose, not the gut’s favourite thing. Good to compensate a bit for it with the bacteria loaded Kombucha.
It is nice book that really addresses how both our mental and physical health depends on what we feed ourselves with due to the straight connection between the gut and brain. Very interesting!
